The cottage is a deceptively spacious pretty Georgian property which comfortably sleeps six in three light and spacious first floor bedrooms. With prior agreement, we welcome well-behaved dogs.
Upstairs there is also a large family bathroom with airing cupboard and one en-suite shower room (There's a downstairs shower room and toilet too!). Storage is plentiful, with wardrobes and chests of drawers in all of the bedrooms. Each of the rooms are heated by radiators.
Downstairs, the house has a living room, spacious hall, dining room, shower room with loo, utility and kitchen. It is cozy in all seasons, and is heated by a Rayburn stove, an open log fire as well as central heating. Plumtree Cottage is your home from home; it is tastefully furnished, has a well-stocked bookcase and boasts much local art and fabrics. And for the chefs out there, it boasts an incredibly well equipped kitchen.
On the ground floor there's a fabulous light and airy kitchen, with room for six to dine in comfort in its separate dining area. Plumtree also offers a comfortable sitting room with open fire and a smart TV, as well as a relaxed large hall with seats and an office area.
A curved staircase leads to three generously sized double bedrooms, one en-suite, and a family bathroom on the first floor.
Plumtree Cottage has free parking available outside the cottage and a small front garden. To the rear is a pretty and enclosed cottage garden, a covered BBQ area (and Weber BBQ!) and outside seating and table for morning coffees and lazy lunches. Plumtree welcomes well-behaved dogs and there's room for them to play in the enclosed rear garden.
Our lovely house is on Gong Lane, a perfect location for very easy access to the coastal path, the local pub and the brilliant play park where we have full guest membership of the two tennis courts - all within a couple of minutes walk away!
Leave the car and stroll out to the creek, just 2 minutes' away from the front door. For small children and the young at heart, try your hand at crabbing on the quay, or take a beautiful walk along the sea wall to Gun Hill and beyond to Holkham and Wells-next-the-Sea with vast expanses of stunning beaches backed by pine forests. We've got a choice of 2 ferries or at low tide you can walk out to Scolt Head Island for a blissful day on a perfect beach with a picnic and buckets and spades. We can't think of a better place to spend a holiday and create wonderful memories!
Burnham Overy Staithe is a pretty coastal village with a busy harbour which is a popular spot for sailors, walkers, bird-watchers and those seeking peace from a busy life.
The area is an area of outstanding natural beauty and with its large expanse of beaches and big blue skies, is stunning in all seasons. It's also blessed with an excellent local gastro-pub, The Hero.
To get to the often deserted nature reserve of Scolt Head island, a bird and seal sanctuary, it's either a 30 minute walk along the coastal footpath across the marshes or a 10 minute ferry ride in the summer.
The Burnham Overy windmill dominates the skyline for miles around and on the outskirts of village you can find 18th century mill-buildings next to the river Burn.
